Jacinto Lucas Pires is the author of three novels, two collections of short stories, two nonfiction books - among which, Livro usado (travel to Japan, 2001, Cotovia), Perfeitos milagres (novel, 2007, Cotovia), Verdadeiro ator (novel, 2011, Cotovia), Grosso modo (short stories, 2016, Cotovia). He writes plays for different groups and directors. He made three short-films and one feature film, Triplo A (2017). He received the David Mourão-Ferreira European Award in 2008. His book Verdadeiro ator has won the 2013 DST Prize of Literature and was published in the United States by Dzanc Books (translation: Jaime Braz and Dean Thomas Ellis).
