Tracey Slaughter’s latest collection of short stories Deleted Scenes For Lovers was published to critical acclaim in 2016. Her short stories have received numerous awards including the Bridport Prize 2014, a New Zealand Book Month award in 2009, the Katherine Mansfield Premier Award in 2004, and the Katherine Mansfield Novice Award in 2001. She won the Landfall Essay Prize in 2015, and her stories have been selected for inclusion in anthologies such as Some Other Country: Best New Zealand Short Stories (Victoria University Press, 2008), The Penguin Book of Contemporary New Zealand Short Stories (Penguin, 2009), and Second Violins: New Stories Inspired by Katherine Mansfield (Random House, 2008). Her poetry has also received awards, including being shortlisted for the Manchester Poetry Prize 2014, and she was the recipient of the 2010 Louis Johnson New Writers Bursary. Tracey teaches creative writing at the University of Waikato in New Zealand, where she edits the online literary journal Mayhem.
