Shan Ling, pen name for Zhang Xin, resides in Austin, Texas. Graduated from South China University of Technology (Guangzhou), and Central South University (ChangSha, HuNan), with BA and MA degrees in English and American Literature, and Linguistics. She was awarded her M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina, and ABD from the University of North Carolina. Shan also worked for the state government of North Carolina. Shan began writing in 2004, and has published over fifty thousand words in prestigious newspapers and magazines both in China and the US. She is a lifetime member of Overseas Chinese Women Writers Association.
