David Leo is Singapore’s award-winning short story writer. Some of his stories have been staged in both English and Chinese, and others made into films.
Two stories were part of the TV mini-series “The Singapore Short Story Project” produced by Media Corps: Picnic (from Wives, Lovers & Other Women) and “The Story of a Good Man” (from The Sins of the Fathers & Other Stories). The production won the Asian Television Awards for Best Drama Series. Another story, “Soup of the Day” (from News At Nine), was one of four stories by local writers commissioned by the National Arts Council to be made into a short film under the “Utter” banner for Singapore Writers Festival 2013, produced by Objectifs.
Besides short stories, he also writes poetry, which has been anthologized in several publications, and longer works of fiction. He was a judge of Singapore’s prestigious Golden Point Award for short stories.
