Alexandre Andrade was born (1971) and lives in Lisbon. He is a professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Hehaspublishedthenovels Benoni (Editorial Notícias, 1997, 2nd edition Relógio d'Água, 2016), Aqui Vem o Sol (Quasi, 2005) and O Leão de Belfort (Relógio d'Água, 2016), andthe short storycollections As Não-Metamorfoses (Errata, 2004), Cinco Contos Sobre Fracasso e Sucesso (Má Criação, 2005, 2nd edition Relógio d'Água, 2017) and Quartos Alugados (Exclamação, 2015). He has collaborated with the magazines Aguasfurtadas, Ficções, Granta and Ler, among others. He participated in the short story anthologiesMosaico (Editorial Escritor, 1997) and Onde a Terra Acaba/From the Edge (ULICES/CEAUL/101 Noites, 2006), as well as in the 2007 edition of the theater festival "PANOS - palcosnovospalavrasnovas" with the play Copo Meio Vazio (Culturgest, 2007). He is the author of the blog "umblogsobrekleist" (umblogsobrekleist.blogspot.pt) and the co-author of the blog "CinéfiloPreguiçoso" (cinefilopreguicoso.blogspot.pt).
