This workshop will zone in on the important elements in short fiction writing; using quotes, exercises and examples, I will show participants how to be mindful in their writing, from start to finish. We will look at early decisions in story writing: the importance of a strong title and a good opening. We will also explore appropriate language use, story/plot and the creation of believable dialogue. We will examine character under the following headings: motivation; conflict; profiles; naming. Participants will receive a handout.
